Brazos Valley African American Museum
A museum’s history deserves a website with the same weight. This project brought bvaam.org, its domain and its email under one roof, and has now launched the museum’s new site.

The museum’s website, domain and email lived with different providers, which made every change slow and every problem hard to trace. The site itself needed a design that matched the importance of the collection and made events easy to find.
One roof, new look
- Planned the move with a full migration checklist and service proposal
- Migrated the WordPress site to new hosting, staged on a temporary domain first so nothing broke
- Transferred the domain and moved the museum’s email addresses onto the same plan
- Designed and launched the new site in a bold, poster-inspired style in the museum’s brand colors, with an events calendar
- Designed the annual banquet’s event identity and photographed the night
Managed in one place
The museum’s site, domain and email now sit under a single managed plan, with one person accountable for all three. bvaam.org is under my management end to end, and I run the museum’s social media, so updates and event promotion happen without waiting on multiple vendors.
